Chief hopes Milito will stay at Barca.
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has revealed that he would like centre-back Gabriel Milito to remain at the club through this transfer window.
The Argentine defender had asked the Spanish champions to send him out on loan for the rest of the season in order to gain more playing time. A number of clubs including Genoa, Napoli and Malaga reportedly expressed their interest in taking Milito on board.
However, Guardiola now says that he is not inclined to allow the 30-year-old to leave Camp Nou and has been quoted by Goal.com Spain as saying, "For now, I say no (Milito will not leave). I have a squad in which there is Gabi, who is an important player even when he is not playing.
"I will never forget how he has behaved throughout this time and if he decides to leave because he wants to play more, then I will help as much as I can and I'll wish him the best."
