Kenny Dalglish is reportedly going to have a meeting with Liverpool's owners and ask them to provide some funds to rebuild the squad and salvage the season.
The Reds have had a torrid time since the start of their campaign, plunging into the relegation zone at one point while recent losses has left them only four points away from doing so again.
But the managerial change in the form of Dalglish replacing Roy Hodgson has not brought about an instant change in fortune, as the Merseyside outfit have played two and lost two under the Scot.
Now The Mirror reports that the 59-year-old former Celtic boss will ask for funding during the meeting with the owners, as he hopes to bring in a midfielder to play alongside skipper Steven Gerrard.
It has also been reported that the gaffer would like to sign a striker to give Fernando Torres some competition, while being able to play alongside the Spaniard or even replace him when he is not available.
