Chelsea Midfielder Frank Lampard: We Have Lost Our Winning Mentality

Frank Lampard has admitted that Chelsea have lost the winning mentality that propelled them to doing the double last season.

The Blues won the Premier League and the FA Cup last campaign, during the course of which they carved out mammoth victories over the likes of Portsmouth, Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic among other emphatic victories.

But their current predicament appears to be a diametric opposite one when compared to those recent exploits, as the west London outfit have won only one of their last nine league games.

"We were knocked out by Inter [in the Champions League] then drew at Blackburn and had a big meeting at our Cobham training ground," Lampard told The Sun.

"After that we beat Portsmouth 5-0, Aston Villa 7-1 and were beating everyone comfortably. I don't remember running out in any game thinking we wouldn't win.

"At the moment there's a bit of a feeling that we're not sure what's going to happen when we go out there.

"If we're honest we all think that. That's just the way it is. You can't help that. It won't change anyone's determination to want to win but you can't help but feel it as we haven't been winning."
