Sampdoria tactician Mimmo Di Carlo praised Lazio for proving a frustrating adversary.
After watching his side leave the field with nothing despite putting in an organised showing against Lazio, coach Mimmo Di Carlo praised Sampdoria for their performance despite the defeat.

“The boys played well today,” he declared to SkySport.

“Despite the absences I was really pleased with my men who conceded little out there.

“The only real shame was when [Giampaolo] Pazzini had the chance to put us ahead and had his effort gone in it could have been a different game.

“Of course it’s never nice to lose so close to the end but this is just a reminder that you cannot let your concentration slip for even a second."
